It’s all about the table…
It’s where we eat.
It’s where we talk,
and laugh.
Where we meet,
with family and friends.
It’s also about the budget and design.
We’ve never had a table like this before…
{Designer style on a budget.}
Until now.
It’s reclaimed Elm,
full of lines and grains.
Gorgeous to touch.
And,
impressive to look at.
After much Pinterest searching
I found these guys…
Introducing the Dalton from Interior Secrets
our new table heirloom.
It’s a whopping 3m long,
and I can safely say it will seat 12 easily.
I’ve teamed it with the Caprice Chair and Eames Replica Side Chair
You can check out founder Bill Huynh’s story here.
{I love a good start up story}
I made a green foliage flower arrangement last night,
as a test run for Christmas,
over wine with friends.
And,
designed some serviette tags.
You can download these Christmas Serviette tags for free here!
{NB: I used 2 x white disposable serviettes to make these, fold, then staple the tags as pictured}
I’m thinking something like this for Christmas day.
With the glasses full.
{Obviously}
And music.
And traditions.
And,
NO table cloth,
now we’ve oiled our new table,
with this furniture oil,
so we can see the wood in it’s glory.
The serviettes are all made…
And we are ready to enjoy…
The food to come.
And the wine to drink,
{did I mention the glasses will be full?}
And,
of course…
the Pork Crackle Festival on Christmas Eve.
This year Ben’s volunteered to cook the pork,
{which Adrian won at the local raffles} on the webber
{he’s got big shoes to fill},
But,
I reckon if he can build a deck to perfection, he can cook Pork Crackle too!
{I’ll keep you posted Dad and Jane}
We’ll even be playing hand ball here,
(go figure, some people think it’s a perfect middle line)
This is where we will be this Christmas.
Eating with new friends
and old.
Missing our family and friends,
(but it only feels like yesterday that some were here
playing with this guy)
In our lives,
It really is all about the table,
and the people you gather there.
The stories you make,
over the grains in the wood.
And the dreams you discuss…
then make a reality.
I wish you all a merry Christmas
and many table gatherings
with family and friends.
And traditions,
and remembrance of the ones that are missing at your table.
Thank you so much for following our journey this year.
I’m taking a break over the holidays to get my studio in order to start creating new works for my Yamba Scandi Collection.
We’ll be back with a full house tour in February.
Until then.

Too true, and the fact that you can use regular store bought napkins to decorate on a budget is a win I think. Happy festive season to you and yours. x
Your table looks gorgeous. I love the plain, simple colour scheme to match the table and outdoor setting.
