Sometimes,
it’s best to use what you’ve got a lot of,
and in my case it happens to be…
bamboo.
We planted some 10 months ago and it’s still growing.
This time last year my folks were driving through the sugarcane
to visit us for the first time.
Today,
they drove through the cane
to visit us for the very first time in our new home.
I’m beyond excited.
We’ve been counting down the sleeps for ages.
I can’t wait to show them all the things they’ve inspired in our new home.
I made an ode to our bamboo,
while I was “zhushing” for their visit,
it’s a quick 5 min DIY and you can make it too!
{Using what you have at hand in your garden.}
How to make Glass Greenery Art
You will need:
Round flasks
Bamboo off cuts, (or whatever you have at hand)
Chopstick
Scissors
Water
Fill the flask with water.
Cut the bamboo so it is the same height as your vase, then push into the water.
Use a chopstick or similar to push the leaves around the vase so it looks pretty.
And voila!
Glass greenery art in 5 mins.
Using what you have in your garden.
You could also try ferns, or any type of fine leafed greenery you have at hand.
Why not try some flowers, perhaps a mass of rose buds?
I couldn’t decide,
if they’d see it in my kitchen,
or near my latest rounds,
or near my Print called Pat’s Palm
(That was inspired by my dad’s brother)
But I decided…
This is where they’ll see it,
next to my DIY Macrame.
I can’t wait to see them,
and hug them tight.
And show them all the memories we’ve made.
And what everything really looks like,
in real life.
We’ll be sitting at our table out the back,
looking at the bamboo,
toasting with cheese and biscuits,
and a sip of wine,
and thinking,
won’t it be good when that bamboo
grows into a wall of green?
And,
talking about friends and family and wonderful times.
And I’ll be thinking…
I can make this glass greenery art for years to come,
and it will always remind me of the day,
my folks came to see our home for the very first time.
Ever made something with bamboo or what you have in the garden?
Do you “zhoosh” when visitors come?
Happy weekend guys,
{Hug those special people tight this weekend x}

You are so clever – you always make something out of what to others, would seem like nothing! “Zhooshing” is totally a thing, it’s just that until now, it was a thing I didn’t know how to spell, so thanks for that! Enjoy the special time with your folks, I have a feeling when they see your house, it’s going to be love at first sight!
