Moving…
It’s a double edged sword.
7 months ago we moved.
and we’re about to do it all again.
I remember changing address details took months to finally complete.
So I’ve made a up a Free Moving House – Change of Address Checklist.
This time I’ll be better organised.
And I won’t get fined because I took to long to change my company details.
That hurt.
{big time}
Here’s a list of all the companies I think you need to advise of your new address.
Moving house – change of address checklist:
• Post Office
• Company address details
• Car Insurance
• Vehicle registration
• House/contents Insurance
• Health Insurance
• Life Insurance
• Lottery card
• Electoral Commission
• Taxation Office
• Medicare
• Drivers licence
• Local Council Rates
• Pet microchip registry
• Vet
• School, TAFE, University
• Water and sewerage
• Accountant
• Childcare
• Banks, Credit Unions
• Charities
• Credit card/hire purchase
• Dentist
• Doctor
• Electricity
• Gas
• Employers
• Family and friends
• Financial advisor
• Home phone
• Mobile phone
• Internet service provider
• Domain names
• Pay TV
• Superannuation fund/s
• Loyalty programs & store cards
• Newspapers & magazine subscriptions
• Toll tags (e-tag, e-toll, touch tag, viatag etc)
That’s one massive list.
No wonder it takes so long to do.
We are so close to moving in to our new dream home.
I can’t wait to fill it with some Yamba Scandi pieces like these.
You might notice the pattern from one of these is featured on this free printable too.
Until then, it’s time to THINK of packing and get ready to change the important details over to our new address.
And Breathe.
And,
make sure the insurance and company details get done immediately.
Incase you’re moving too, you can download and print out this Free Moving House Change of Address Checklist to help you make sure you haven’t missed any important ones like I did last time.
Got any tips for advising change of address details when moving house?
Or any other’s I’ve missed? (and I’ll add them to the list)

PPS: Big things happened last week.
I took a break for the holidays and watched this.
Our pool started going in and we should be moving in here on the 23rd October, but we’ve set the date for the 30th to be safe.
It’s going to be an exciting few weeks, watching this dream home finally come together.
I’m busting at the seams.
Pet microchip registry! Now that’s something I wouldn’t have thought of! Oh my goodness your home is so coming to life. Fingers crossed for the 30th of this month. Xx

It’s such a big list, if I write them all down I have a chance of getting them all, I only know that one because we did it not so long ago.
Yes, fingers crossed for the 30th, it’s hard to believe in a few weeks everything will come together. There still looks like so much to do.
I still have your comment in my head, just breathe… From last time we moved.
Have a great weekend.
Oh Sarah I’m so pleased those words have been helpful to you… we should never forget or underestimate the power of stopping to take just one deep breath. Imagine laying on your air mattress floating in your pool taking as many deep breaths as you please… how cool will that be!!! Not long now 🙂

They really have Sandra, I’ll be calling on them this week.
And as I lie on that mattress, I’ll have a quiet cheers for you lovely lady x
Wowzers! It’s so close now I can almost taste it! At least you don’t have quite so far to move this time. Moving sucks balls but it’s totally worth it, especially when you’re moving into a brand new house that you have designed yourself. I’m not planning to move for a very long time but if and when I do, your list will be a lifesaver! x

That’s true, I’m so not looking forward to packing and unpacking, but it will be worth it. I so need to cull some more things before we go so we don’t bring over things we don’t need.
I think it’s great to have a list you can check off, like last time, it cost me money when I forgot to do my company details in the correct time slot, they are first on my list this time.
Hope you had a great weekend. x
How exciting your move is getting so close!! Moving is a pain in the butt but when it is into a new dream home it makes it all worth it.

I’m not looking forward to the moving, but you are so right, it will all be worth it in the end. I will have checklist upon checklist.
Hope you had a great weekend x
Omg so close now! How freakin exciting! Awesome list… Also handy for when you have to cancel your credit card due to fraud and advise all your direct debitors… Which is what I’ve been madly doing this week! We direct debit pretty much everything too!! Xx

Yes, I am totes excited, just need to breathe and enjoy the process, or the fun bits anyway. x

This list is superb! I always get so flustered and stressed when moving house. Looks like you’ve got it covered! Good luck with it all x

I think everyone does, it takes so long to finish the list. Hopefully this will be key to be more organised this time.
