Sugar and wine…
are mighty fine.
Introducing the latest piece in my Yamba Scandi Collection.
The Sugarcane print.
{You know you have a good neighbour, when you go to borrow a cup of sugar and leave with a cup of wine.}
What magic words.
Now , that we happen to live at the cusp of the cane fields,
the sugarcane has become the inspiration for my latest piece in the Yamba Scandi Collection.
I am truly grateful to have such wonderful people in my life.
New and old…
That I could easily ask for a cup of sugar and come back with a cup of sugar AND a quick wine.
I remember,
driving on holidays…
and seeing the fields of sugarcane,
it meant you had past the point of no return…
You WERE on holidays.
Set for new adventures,
Carefree..
Ready to enjoy life.
I remember,
friends dropping by for a cheeky wine for no reason at all.
I remember,
neighbours dropping by for a cup of sugar for a recipe when I was a kid.
Join all these together…
holidays, friends, fabulous neighbours, wine, the fields of sugarcane we see and…
The Sugarcane print was born.
It will take a special spot in our new dining room.
I’m creating a Scandinavian feel with a touch of Yamba, and I plan to ensure that our new home will embody warmth, friendship and
spontaneous cups of wine… when required.
Some of you may know, I’ve just been to Pro Blogger at RCAV Royal Pines.
It was amazing. (As usual)
Gorgeous food. (Thanks RACV Royal Pines)
Awesomely organised by Darren Rowse and his FABULOUS team.
Wonderfully inspired by a multitude of speakers.
Like, Mrs Woog, Kelly Exeter, Ruth Soukup and Jadah Sellner from Simple Green Smoothies to name a few.
It all started with humble pie, (a pitstop on our road trip to the event)
and me walking around as Sarah Preston
It was an accumulation of an awesome destination, and seeing fabulously inspiring people, like Bele from Blah Blah Magazine, Kim from Land of Zonkt, Sammie from The Annoyed Thyroid and a host of others I never managed to grab a photo with like Lauren from Create Bake Make, Lucy from Play, Bake, Smile, Malinda from My Brown Paper Packages, Vicki from Boiled Eggs & Soldiers just to name a few.
…delightful food, teppankakki at Arakawa, and tasting plates at Videre
It inspired me to…
Keep creating,
To do the things I love and share them with you, so you can make them too.
Wi fi free printable // DIY mozzie Coil holder // Diy Terrarium // DIY Sphaghnum Moss Balls
Here’s how I plan to use these in our new Yamba Scandi inspired home.
It also inspired me to put some ideas on paper and take them out of my head, so I’m more organised and the big guy can see where everything will go. Here’s my wish list of new furniture pieces.
Dalton Reclaimed Elm Table 3 m // Caprice Chair // Eames Replica Chair // Nipprig Shade // Besta TV Storage Combination // Tejn Faux Sheepskin // Heidi Tractor Stool // Riley 2 Seater Chaise
Coupled with a few pieces from my Yamba Scandi Collection.
Yamba Scandi Collection // Where The Crabs Live Throw Pillow // The Breakwall Tree Throw Pillow // The Sugarcane Print
I can’t wait to put all these pieces in our new home, and show you once we move in.
I also learnt and important lesson from PB Event…
Making time for me. (Thank you Darren)
I was introduced to these girls, Loren Bartley and Fiona Redding from The Business Addicts
and I thought you might like this too, check it out below.
A podcast by The Business Addicts with Kelley Exeter.
It’s about how to crack the code to living a life less frantic, (I love the 1 minute rule).
The moral to the story:
As inspired by The Sugarcane print…
Sometimes you go to an event looking for a cup of sugar and leave with an overflowing cup of wine.
You can now purchase this print in my shop, click here.

PS: Here’s a sneak peek of our house progress to date. Come on over….
I always know I am entering the realm of relaxation at my parents house because I drive through the cane fields to get there – it really is the sign of slowing down. I need a new neighbour I think, no glasses of wine being offered over my fence 🙁
And it was fabulous to meet you IRL!! 🙂

I know… there’s just something about those canefields that mean relaxing and holidays to me too.
You made me laugh about the neighbours.
It was just awesome to meet you IRL too. x
A really inspiring post Sarah! I’d really love to make it to pro blogger next year, maybe I will treat myself. And it’s so great that you got to catch up with some other blogger lovelies. Loving your sugar cane piece – you clever lady! I too love a podcast recommendation… Have you heard of Slow your Home Podcast? I recommend . Rx
You so should Rachael, you’ll love it!
Thanks for the lovely comment too.

Just loved see you Sammie, thanks for dropping by.
I’m getting all excited, but scared at the same time, sooo much to do before we move again, hopefully for the last time.
Oh I love the sugarcane print and the sentiment behind it.

Me too, we will have to catch up next time.
It was such an inspiring event, I just loved it. x

Too kind, thanks for being one of my great supporters.
I’m about to put those Mozzie Coil Holders in my shop for all the people that don’t have time to make one for themselves.
Hope you had a greet weekend. x
You have definitely moved to a lush part of the world, Lisa. I grew up spending summers on my uncle’s sugarcane farm in FNQ. Whenever we drive up the coast, as soon as we hit the sugarcane, it feels like home.
I’m so glad you enjoyed PB so much. I would love to have been there. x
What a gorgeous memory… that’s the same feeling I get, feels like home now…
I missed you this year at PB. X
Lady, where to start! It was sooooo good to see you (as always) and the only bummer about you being up north is that it’s harder to see you, but I’ll just have to make more effort.
I love the home vid – so exciting and how gorgeous is your print and soooo true.
Love you,
Bele xx
Oh thanks lovely lady, was just awesome to see you too. You made my plus one feel so welcome. Lets catch up next time I’m down your way, or drop by when you are up this way. The pelicans are missing you. x
Oh I love sugarcane…especially when heading south you see fields and fields of it around South Ballina all the way to you in Yamba. You new print is fab! x
