Introducing our backyard! Our Murph lives here. This is zoysia grass, (you never have to mow it, was a pre-request from my husband and will always be clumpy like a hobbit’s hill) – we live on a hill, so that’s a plus to not have to mow that!
Here is our Murph when we first bought him home, he was our first child, (we used to sign our names with his name at the end.) Our first Christmas with him, he came and slept the night as all kids do.
I remember that Christmas when he ate a rat bait, Christmas lunch was cancelled for us as we took him to an emergency vet to make sure he was ok. The text was… “Hallelujah…he is ok!” (relief from my dad that his son-in-laws dogs was ok) Crazy… I was never a dog person till I met my husband, now I can’t think of a life without such a friend.
As a person who never had dog I didn’t want to have a feature of a dog house. So here is our dog house feature…
When we designed this we made it so the bottom could be opened to clean it out, funny now how our little guy thinks it is a cubby and does “pop goes the weasle!”
In the mornings before work and kindy, my little guys job is to give Murph a bone, he throws it right in the bottom far right corner of the house… go figure!
Our Murph has grown since we first got him, he is so placid with our beautiful boy, the other day I caught my little guy steping on his tail for fun, Murph just sat and looked at him, then moved away once he had had enough, I am so glad both our boys get on, they are both the love of our lives.
We added some storage above Murph’s house recently as our little guys has now got a new balance bike.
